Human P450c21 (CYP21) Antibody

Specificity: Rabbit polyclonal antibody against human 21-hydroxylase (P450c21) [also called CYP21; cytochrome P450, family 21, subfamily A, polypeptide 2; steroid 21-monooxygenase; cytochrome P450, subfamily XXIA (steroid 21-hydroxylase, congenital adrenal hyperplasia), polypeptide 2; steroid 21-hydroxylase].

Antigen used for immunizations: The partial human P450c21 coding sequence (Accession #: NP_000491), containing the amino acid residue 164 to 495, was inserted into pET-3b and connected to the first 12 amino acids of phase gene 10. It has the proper transcriptional and translational starting sites contributed by the phase sequence. A T7 transcriptional termination site is also located 3' to the insert in the vector. The fusion protein was expressed in E. coli system and purified for rabbit immunization.

Storage Condition: Whole serum with 0.1% NaN3.

Recommendations on use:

Immunohistochemisty (IHC):

The immunohistochemical picture using 1:1000 dilution of the human P450c21 antibody on the adult female mouse adrenal cryosection.

Western blotting:

Recommended: working dilution on Western blotting 1:5000. Incubate primary antibody at 25ºC with 10 µg of adult male adrenal cell extract for 60 minutes.

Storage and stability: Store unopened antibody at 4ºC or lower. Under these conditions, there is no significant loss in product performance one year from the purchase date. The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least two months when stored at 4ºC. For long term storage, it is recommended that aliquots of the antibody are frozen at -20ºC (frost-free freezers are not recommended). Repeated freezing and thawing must be avoided. Prepare working dilutions on the day of use.
